Challenge
Sobeys wanted to strengthen its community presence and reinforce its brand values of inclusivity, support, and care. While Sobeys has a strong customer base, there was an opportunity to highlight its corporate social responsibility efforts and deepen emotional connections with customers by showcasing its support for the Special Olympics program. The challenge was to design creative assets that balanced brand consistency with the warmth, energy, and positivity that the campaign required.
Solution
I collaborated with the creative team to design marketing materials that communicated Sobeys partnership with Special Olympics in a clear, engaging, and empathetic way. The design approach emphasized accessibility, community, and celebration, ensuring visuals and copy resonated with both Sobeys diverse customer base and the broader community. The creative was adapted across channels, providing flexibility while maintaining brand cohesion.
Execution
To ensure a consistent visual identity across all customer touchpoints, the campaign creative was designed to be adaptable for multiple assets. This included email marketing (to reach and engage loyalty members directly), social media carousels (to encourage shareable, bite-sized storytelling), and in-store POP displays (to reinforce the message at the point of purchase). The intention was to create a cohesive experience where customers encountered the same message in different formats, building trust, recognition, and ultimately driving higher engagement with the program.
